Michael Lissack

Academics

Michael Lissack is the immediate past President of the American Society for Cybernetics (2015 to 2020), Executive Director Emeritus of the Institute for the Study of Coherence and Emergence (1998 to 2018), and Professor of Design and Innovation, College of Design and Innovation, Tongji University, Shanghai (2015 to present).

Dr. Lissack holds a doctorate from the Henley Management College (1999), a masters degree from Yale (1981), and a bachelors degree from Williams College (1979).

His academic work has focused on how cybernetics and complex systems help to better understand human cognition at both the individual and shared levels. .
